The best way to understand what coaching at Multisport Mastery is like is to hear it from the people who’ve been inside it.

These athletes came to us with different goals, different backgrounds, and different definitions of what success looked like. What they share is the experience of a coaching relationship that asked more of them – and gave more back – than they expected.

Their words, not ours.

“We started working together around the same time I got my first real triathlon bike 11 year ago.  Hiring you and getting the bike, among other things, were me finally really investing in myself, my fitness and to see how far I could go with it.  Well, I’ve/we’ve gone far in spite of some very big injury bumps in the road.  I appreciate your support and ability to get me back on track and to not give up, which I was very close to doing a couple of years ago. ” Kelly (North Carolina)

“Two things that stand out the most about what I’ve enjoyed and benefitted from while working with you since 2011; 1) The first is your obvious and consistent commitment to growing and learning as a coach and as an athlete.  Every year the training is a little different and no doubt reflects what you learned the previous year.  I get excited to see what new kinds of things will show up on my plan; 2) The second is that you ask and expect me to take responsibility for my own athletic journey.  You ask – what’s working, what’s not?  Why don’t you think that workout went well?  What habits are getting in your way? What do you think you need to do to make the next step forward? You’ve taught me to think about how I want to show up, what do I need to do to not make the same mistakes. I love all of that. I’ve learned so much about myself.” Kathryn (Connecticut)

“We have a white board with goals written on it in our bike room/office, and while the 70.3 World Championship qualification has been a reach goal of mine since I started 70.3’s two years ago, it’s felt unrealistic. When I started coaching with you, I told myself to focus only on process goals and all I wrote on there was “Follow Liz’s plan” 🙂 All that to say, thank you for getting me here!.” Lauren (Washington D.C.)

“With your guidance I have achieved wonderful goals that have boosted my self confidence, my ambition and have shaped a new perspective where every opportunity is a glass half full. Your coaching has impacted not just my physical ability, but my personality. I truly believe that from your leadership my personal, social and emotional outlook has shifted. You are the epitome of grace, strength and wisdom. With your help I have achieved multiple PRs, a Boston Marathon qualification, a New York City Marathon qualification, a 70.3 worlds qualification and a Kona world championships qualification, but again and most importantly you have helped me feel the most confident in my own body. I have achieved so many goals, my cup is full.” Emily (Utah)

“I’ve been meaning to tell you how important you’ve been to me through this whole journey. You’ve done much more than coach me to podium finishes, although that has happened, too! You’ve coached me through life and let this sport be a guidepost to get me through the tough stuff. Thanks for letting our relationship be about more than just racing.” Carrie (South Carolina)

“Thank you for communicating so well with me throughout this season! I’ve never experienced such depth, insight, and customization in my training plan like you’ve given me. I’m really glad I made the switch to working with you. It was hard at first and I was torn, but at the end of the day I wanted to do better for ME, and this was the best move for it. At the end of my tri season last year, I felt defeated, hopeless, and a bit resentful. At the end of this season, I am leaving excited, hopeful, and more motivated! Thank you so much for everything you’ve done for me. I can’t even express how grateful and impressed I am with your coaching methods.” Liz (Illinois)

“Just a thank you. To gain so much when I’m about to turn 45 was beyond anything I could have expected. I know I can’t always do that but it definitely made me think about possibility again. I have you to thank for that and for keeping me healthy and inspired all these years.” M., Washington DC

“I’m a recently retired guy who decided to jump headfirst into an Ironman at age 58. It was my first ever triathlon and I figured, why not start big?! I engaged Liz in January and she was amazing! I only had 5 months of lead time before the race, and she got me there despite a self-inflicted achilles injury and two self-inflicted bicycle crashes that included broken bones. How’d she do it? Her training schedule kept me throttled back when I was too gung-ho for my own good in the early days, and she pushed me hard when my body was capable of it. Her style is super clear, her attitude so positive, and she had a good read on my own strengths and weaknesses. So after the successful Ironman in June, I signed up for my first 100-mile ultra marathon at the end of August. Again, Liz nailed things for my two months of training. I not only had two big successful races under her guidance, I also learned a lot about endurance training from her working with Liz.” Dale (Illinois)

“I’ve found more success and accomplishment in doing less than I ever thought I would after being stuck in mega distance everything for so long. It’s refreshing to be able to build and maintain fitness without destroying myself! Thank you for being such a great coach, I continue to learn about both being an athlete AND a better coach from you!” Katie, Washington DC

“I really appreciate all your time, insight and guidance. I continue to thoroughly enjoy working together and even more so now that I am rebuilding to my 2019 pre-injury self. Your plan and comments are intuitive, simplistic and challenging (mostly mentally). In addition to the workouts, you offer so many insights through your educational writings shared weekly in Training Peaks and all the other nuggets of info.” John, Virginia
