Mastery Moment with Katie M.

Katie M., who works with Coach Elizabeth Waterstraat, shares her Mastery Moment – a shift from coaching that reaches beyond sport, into other areas of their life.

“I’ve found more success/accomplishment in doing less than I ever thought I would after being stuck in mega distance everything for so long. It’s refreshing to be able to build and maintain fitness without destroying myself! Thank you for being such a great coach, I continue to learn about both being an athlete AND a better coach from you! “

So many athletes come in believing success is built on doing more; more miles, more hours, more fatigue. And for a while, that approach can feel productive until it leads to plateaus, burnout, or simply losing the joy in the process.

At Multisport Mastery, we believe in coaching as a true partnership and an ongoing process of learning. It’s not about handing down a one-size-fits-all plan. It’s about working together to understand what actually drives progress for each individual athlete. Listening. Adjusting. Reflecting. Growing, on both sides.

Real progress doesn’t come from doing more. It comes from doing what matters, consistently and with intent. Seeing an athlete discover they can build and maintain fitness without constantly breaking themselves down – that’s a turning point. It builds confidence, sustainability, and a deeper connection to the process. And when that understanding carries over into other areas of life, that’s the ripple effect we’re after.

This is what a Mastery Moment looks like: grounded in the trust, the openness to evolve, and the commitment to doing things differently. Mastery – build together.

At Multisport Mastery, we work with each athlete to create these moments of mastery. If you’re looking to train with intent towards your triathlon, running, or endurance goals, it’s time for us to connect.

Elizabeth Waterstraat is the founder and head coach of Multisport Mastery. Since 2007, Elizabeth has partnered with athletes of all ages, speeds, all over the world to explore their potential in sport and life.
